Veterinarian – Dairy Farm Specialist – Al Ain, UAE
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinarian to join our dairy farm operations in Al Ain, UAE. This role focuses on providing comprehensive veterinary care for sheep and goat herds, ensuring optimal animal health and farm productivity. As a Veterinary Doctor or Animal Health Specialist, you will be an integral part of our agricultural team, applying your expertise in ruminant medicine and herd management to maintain the highest standards of animal welfare and milk production.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular health assessments and disease surveillance for sheep and goat populations.
- Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and reproductive disorders using evidence-based veterinary practices.
- Implement and oversee vaccination programs, parasite control, and biosecurity protocols.
- Manage herd health records, including treatment logs, breeding data, and mortality reports.
- Provide preventive care and nutritional advice to optimize animal growth and lactation.
- Assist with reproductive management, including artificial insemination and pregnancy diagnosis.
- Collaborate with farm managers to develop and enforce animal welfare standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 2–4 years of hands-on veterinary experience, preferably in dairy farming with sheep or goats.
- Strong knowledge of ruminant physiology, mastitis control, and herd health economics.
- Ability to perform clinical procedures, including surgeries and emergency interventions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with farm staff.
- Valid veterinary license or eligibility for licensure in the UAE.
- Willingness to work on-site in Al Ain and adhere to farm schedules.
